From the caravans of yesteryear to the suites of the present. A new model for hospitality that allows you to enjoy camping without the need to pull your lodgings uphill. Hotels have joined the retro wave with the availability of a collection of classic trailers to sleep revival-style, for the hippest of lodgers. In the desert, the field or the designer hotel: there’s a caravan for you.

The thirst for freedom. The same that the visionary American pioneer William Byam had in 1929 when he added a simple hood to a rudimentary chassis, kicking off the legend that is the Airstream trailer. Nearly a century later, the world of hospitality has been shaken by forces that have caused it to diversify into non-conformist formats, and they are anything but conventional. Hotels are no longer experienced all in the same way, because basically hotels are simply not the same. Sleeping in a Mongolian yurt. Sleeping in an igloo near the North Pole. Sleeping in a designer cube up in the treetops. Because you want to, not because you need to. Proven versions of accommodation and destination hotels all give a shiny sheen to the oh-so proverbial line of “unique experiences”. One of the most Bohemian kinds is that of the hotel on wheels, a hybrid model between new generation hotels and good ol’ campsites. Caravan-camping sheds its old-fogey connotations and affiliates itself with retro fashion, turning sleeping in a trailer into an absolute must for hipsters everywhere.
