NikeCourt homenajea a Serena Williams, impresionante tenista e icono de estilo, con la Greatness Collection
Con esta colección Nike no solo que celebrar la figura de Serena Williams como la tenista de élite que es, sino también como icono de estilo, dentro y fuera de las pistas. De hecho, las 2 grandes pasiones de Serena son el tenis y la moda. 2 disciplinas en las que aplica toda su creatividad, al igual que en su momento lo hiciera Andre Agassi, un referente de estilo para Serena, como ella misma confiesa.
La colección está integrada por zapatillas y prendas de vestir cuyo objetivo es reflejar el poderío de Serena tanto en competición como en su día a día. Incluye tres modelos de zapatillas: NikeCourt Flare, NikeCourt Air Max 1 Ultra y NikeCourt Roshe LD-1000. Cada una de ellas combina los estampados Nike Safari y mármol. El primero está relacionado tanto con el ADN de Nike como con la predilección de Williams por los estampados de animales, mientras que el segundo simboliza su fuerza.
En los modelos NikeCourt Air Max 1 Ultra y NikeCourt Roshe LD-1000, los estampados se aplican sobre una capa semitransparente y sin costuras. En los empeines de estas zapatillas de estilo deportivo se ha utilizado cuero negro de alta calidad en el logotipo Nike Swoosh, la lengüeta y el talón. Con cada modelo se entregan dos juegos de cordones, herretes y puntas.
Williams utilizará la edición limitada de las NikeCourt Flare en sus partidos en Nueva York, del mismo modo que ha utilizado el
modelo de alto rendimiento en sus últimos cuatro torneos de Grand Slam.
Para complementar su look en la pista, Williams también lucirá la chaqueta NikeCourt Bomber. Se trata de una versión moderna
de la clásica chaqueta de aviador, con un dobladillo inclinado de atrás hacia delante y un tejido de tafetán ligeramente brillante, un guiño a la majestuosidad de la ciudad de Nueva York. La chaqueta también incluye el logotipo de Serena Williams en el
centro de la espalda y dos juegos de herretes para personalizar la cremallera, además de unos ribetes y un clásico cuello de
punto de estilo deportivo.
El motivo blanco y negro de la colección refleja el estilo atrevido y definido de Williams fuera de la pista. La cita personal de la tenista, “Eres fuerte, poderosa y atractiva”, aparece impresa en la plantilla de las zapatillas y en el forro interior de la chaqueta.
Aunque inspirada en Serena Williams, la iniciativa de esta propuesta surge nada menos que de Mark Parker, Presidente y Director Ejecutivo de Nike, Inc. A ambos les une un estrecha relación profesional y personal desde hace años. Mark conoce la pasión de Serena por la moda y por ello oriento a todo el equipo de diseño a idear piezas que fueran un fiel reflejo de la fuerte personalidad de la tenista.

NIKECOURT CELEBRATES SERENA WILLIAMS
To celebrate Serena Williams’ incredible summer, merely the latest chapter in her phenomenal career, NikeCourt introduces the “Greatness Collection.” Spanning footwear and apparel, the offering embodies the strength, power and beauty the tennis icon displays on and off the court.
While the inspiration for the collection comes from Williams, its instigation came from NIKE, Inc. President and CEO Mark Parker. Parker has worked closely with Williams over the years; he considers her both a colleague and a friend. Relying on his firsthand knowledge of Williams’ taste in style and design, Parker guided the design team to create items that accurately capture her personality.
The Greatness Collection features three footwear silhouettes: the NikeCourt Flare, NikeCourt Air Max 1 Ultra and NikeCourt Roshe LD-1000. Each shoe features a juxtaposition of Nike Safari and marble prints. The former connects to both Nike DNA and Williams’ penchant for animal prints, while the latter symbolizes her strength.
On the NikeCourt Air Max 1 Ultra and NikeCourt Roshe LD-1000, the prints are applied on a semi-transparent no-sew skin. The uppers of these sport-style shoes also feature premium black leather on the Nike Swoosh, tongue and heel. Each arrives with two sets of laces, aglets and dubrets.
To complement her on-court look, Williams will sport the NikeCourt Bomber Jacket. A modern take on the classic bomber silhouette, it features a sloping back-to-front hem and taffeta fabric with a slight sheen that nods to New York City’s glitz. The jacket also includes the Serena Williams logo on the center back and two sets of zipper aglets for customization — plus a classically sporty knit collar and ribbing.
The collection’s black and white motif mirrors Williams’ bold, clean off-court style. The athlete’s signature quote, “You are strong, powerful and beautiful,” is printed on the sockliner of the shoes and the inside lining of the jacket.
